Halton
Regional Police - Special Friends Day
Special Friends Day is a free event organized by the Halton Regional
Police and other Emergency Services for individuals
who have developmental and physical disabilities of all ages.
It will take place on June 13th, 2010 from 10:00am to 2:00pm at
Country Heritage Park in Milton. Registration is from 9:00am until
1:00pm on the 13th. Events will include an opening parade,
carnival games, crafts, musical entertainment, wagon rides and

Sunrise
Therapeutic Riding and Learning Centre Sunrise
Therapeutic Riding and Learning Centre is a non-profit charitable
organization that offers therapeutic riding lessons to children
and adults with a physical or developmental disability. Therapeutic
riding offers a chance to be successful at a unique activity while
receiving educational and therapeutic benefits.

Integrated summer programs are available for children ages five
to thirteen years in July and August. For more information please

Burlington
Able Sail at LaSalle Park
Burlington Able Sail provides sailing and sail instruction for
individuals with a developmental disability. The program runs
Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays in July and
August starting at 12:00pm. Instruction consists of one
hour
sessions with one or two sailors (depending on skill level). For

AO2
Camp
Community Living Burlington has partnered
with the City of Burlington to run an Adult Outdoor Opportunity
Program (AO2) for
individuals over 21 years old. A typical day is filled with: swimming,
day trips, sports and more. The program runs from July
5th until August 27th and there is a fee for the camp.

Paddle
All
Paddle All is a project of CanoeKayak Canada in collaboration
with the Wai Nui O Kanaka Outrigger Canoe Club that offers
Canoe and Kayak programs for individuals who have a developmental
disability and are over the age of 12 years. For more

Olympics
Special Olympics provides training and competition in several
sports for individuals who have a developmental disability on
a
year-round basis. Some sports include; golf, soccer and softball.
